GivingTuesday is just around the corner and Mississauga residents are gearing up to join the global movement for a 5th year on Tuesday, December 3rd.
After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday is a day dedicated to giving back to any cause, in any way you choose. Whether you volunteer, make a financial donation, give blood, or help spread the word about your favourite charity, GivingTuesday encourages and celebrates generosity in all forms—it's that simple!
Across the City of Mississauga, residents are encouraged to choose a charity and kick start the holiday season by giving. Charities, businesses, schools, and local community groups will be taking part in events and campaigns we've listed below. Plus, keep checking back as more events that will be added!
Here's what's planned for Mississauga on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019:
The Dam are teaming up with Boston Pizza at Square One (35 Square One Drive) and will be hosting a fundraiser from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. 15 percent of all sales will be donated back to The Dam.
Canadian Blood Services is seeking 49 donors ready to roll up their sleeves. Give the gift of life at their Heartland Blood Donor Clinic (765 Britannia Road West, Unit 2) Register now.
The Credit Valley Foundation is teaming up with Boston Pizza at Erin Mills (2915 Eglinton Avenue West, Mississauga) and will be hosting a fundraiser from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. A percentage of all sales will be donated back to the Credit Valley Foundation.
The Learning Disabilities Association of Peel Region is teaming up with Boston Pizza at Erin Mills (2915 Eglinton Avenue West, Mississauga) and will be hosting a fundraiser from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A percentage of all sales will be donated back to the Learning Disabilities Association of Peel Region.
The Rotaract Club of Mississauga is hosting a fundraiser at 7:00 p.m. at Falite Irish Pub (201 City Centre Drive) in support of the Salvation Army's Toy Mountain drive. Please bring a new and unwrapped toy to donate. At 8:30 p.m. the team will head over to Celebration Square to skate!
Eden Food for Change has partnered with ALEX AND ANI at Square One (100 City Centre Drive, Mississauga) to raise funds this GivingTuesday! A portion of sales from most items sold between 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. will support Eden Food for Change.
Meridian at Erin Mills and Folkway (4099 Erin Mills Parkway) will be collecting non-perishable food donations on December 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in support of Eden Food for Change. Click here to learn more about Eden Food for Change's most needed items.
Meridian in Clarkson (970 Southdown Road) will be collecting non-perisable food donations on December 3rd from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in support of The Compass.
'Twas The Bite Before Christmas is hosting a family friendly turkey dinner at Oasis Banquet Hall, Lakeview (1036 Lakeshore Road East) from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event supports The Mississauga Food Bank and The Compass. Click here to learn more.

The Mississauga Food Bank accepts food donations at their warehouse (3121 Universal Drive) during business hours on December 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and various fire stations and grocery stores across Mississauga listed here.
