Environmental Charities

The following list of registered Canadian charities partnered with MississaugaGives work advocate and protect our natural environment. 

Credit Valley Conservation Foundation (BN: 118879048RR0001) is a registered environmental charity working to help protect and conserve the lands and waters of the Credit River Watershed. The Foundation accomplishes this by raising funds from private individuals and organizations to invest in the valuable conservation projects and initiatives of Credit Valley Conservation. As emerging leaders in sustainable fund development, CVCF aspires to make a minimum annual contribution of $1 million dollars to Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) in support of its efforts in carrying out valuable conservation projects. In the past 5 years, the CVC Foundation has raised more than $3 million dollars in support of the valuable environmental projects of Credit Valley Conservation.  

Ecosource (BN: 119245645RR0001) is an environmental education charity in Ontario serving children, youth, adults, and families with a focus on improving access to environmental engagement for marginalized communities. Our work began in Mississauga in 1979 and has expanded throughout the Region of Peel and beyond to promote waste reduction, urban agriculture, sustainability education, nature connection, and youth leadership. As leaders in grassroots environmental education, our staff works in schools and communities, delivering interactive learning experiences that emphasize our interdependence on one another and the environment. In 2017 alone, Ecosource engaged over 36,000 residents in environmental education reaching new audiences and neighbourhoods across in Peel.

Renewed Computer Technology (RCT) (BN: 875058828RR0001) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that empowers learners, educators and not-for-profit organizations with increased access to information and communications technology (ICT), skill development and learning opportunities, in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

The Riverwood Conservancy (TRC) is a volunteer- and member-based charity that provides programs and services to the community in nature and environmental education, stewardship of Riverwood, and gardening and horticulture. TRC supports the City of Mississauga in the growth and development of Riverwood as a public garden, park, and nature preserve.  It promotes the enjoyment and enriches the experience of Riverwood for visitors and citizens of Mississauga and the surrounding areas. The Riverwood Conservancy: delivers educational programs and services for all ages with particular emphasis upon children and youth; provides horticultural, stewardship, heritage and environmental programs and related services; organizes and supports the contributions of volunteers by offering training sessions and by showing appreciation and recognition; establishes partnerships with community organizations, institutions and businesses having an interest in the beauty, environmental health, and the natural and cultural heritage of Riverwood and the Credit River.
