Get Your Community Organization Involved In #SaugaGives

Whether your community organization chooses to raise funds, send your group to volunteer at a charity, or host an event supporting a cause—there are so many ways to get your community group giving back this Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 on GivingTuesday.

Last year, the team at MississaugaGives saw community organizations across the City of Mississauga giving back to a number of causes as part of the global giving movement. Carassauga hosted an event collecting food and financial donation for Eden Food For Change, while Studio 89 collected food donations for The Mississauga Food Bank at their cafe as just two examples.

It’s easy to take part in this year’s MississaugaGives campaign celebrating charitable giving across Mississauga on GivingTuesday. Here’s how:

  1. Find one or more cause(s) your community group would like support by checking out the charities MississaugaGives has partnered with. Explore our partnered animal charities, arts and culture charities, environmental charities, health charities, international charities, social service and community charities, and religious charities

  2. Once you choose one or more charities to support on GivingTuesday, determine how your community group would like to give back and support your selected cause(s). Whether your group would like to donate funds, host an event or fundraiser, volunteer, or give in another way, it is up to you! Need ideas? Check out the resources available on the GivingTuesday Canada website

  3. Once you have determined how your community organization will be giving back this GivingTuesday, let the team at MississaugaGives know by contacting us. We can help share your GivingTuesday plans on our website and social media to let the rest of Mississauga know how you will be giving back this Tuesday, November 28th, 2017. Our team can also help put you in touch with our partnered charities.

  4. Leading up to GivingTuesday, make sure to share with your online followers, customers, and fans about GivingTuesday and your involvement in the MississaugaGives campaign by using the hashtag #SaugaGives and #GivingTuesdayCA

  5. Then, on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 (this year’s date for GivingTuesday), all there is left to do is give! Use the hashtag #SaugaGives and #GivingTuesdayCA to show your giving plans in action on the day of.
